There's making mistakes, and then there's MAKING MISTAKES…
Unfortunately for Kanesha, she quickly becomes very well-acquainted with the latter…the luckless protagonist of Regretful Decisions,
Kanesha endures setback after setback on the road to true maturity,
stumbling along the way over obstacles of all types – mostly those of
her own creation.
Soon after moving into a new house in a
seemingly friendly neighborhood, Kanesha begins an ill-advised affair
with Shawn, a complete stranger she happens to meet at a local gym.
Accustomed to being led by her libido, Kanesha surrenders to the flesh
until her fling with Shawn ends just as abruptly as it began. Almost
immediately, she succumbs to the charms of Omar, a neighbor she's
lusted after since first laying eyes on him. As time goes on, her
feelings for Omar deepen, and their bond grows stronger and stronger,
despite the fact that Shawn re-emerges on the scene in an effort to
reclaim Kanesha as his own.
Unending drama soon begins to
unfold, though, as skeletons from both Omar and Shawn's pasts begin
tumbling out of the closet at breakneck speed. Overwhelmed by all the
confusion, Kanesha soon begins making mistake after tragic mistake, the
consequences of which grow increasingly severe until she runs the risk
of losing her very life. Only time will tell if she finally learns the
invaluable lessons she needs to embrace in order to rescue herself from
the shadows of looming destruction.
If nothing else, Regretful Decisions
should serve as a cautionary tale for everyone insistent on throwing
caution to the wind, prizing instant gratification above all else. Life
is not a fairy tale, but it certainly isn't a soap opera either, and
the reality of lustful compulsion is that it leads to grave
consequences for all those involved – even those who play no direct
role in fostering it. By the example of Kanesha's life, Adams
illustrates that, in order to spare ourselves and those we care about,
we must seriously evaluate the pros & cons of every action prior to
committing it.
A fast-paced read with a telling message, Regretful Decisions is a compelling story that the reader is sure not to forget – much less regret.
Official Apex Reviews Interview: Sebrina Adams (Regretful Decisions)
Apex
Reviews: Thanks for joining us for this interview, Sebrina. We're
looking very much forward to learning more about your book.
Sebrina Adams: It's my pleasure to be here. I'm glad you had a chance to read and analyze my book.
AR: Is any of the book drawn from your personal experiences?
SA:
Not necessarily. My story is a combination of some of my own
experiences, as well as experiences of other people that I have
observed over the past years.
AR:
So much tragedy befalls Kanesha that she can be seen as a female
version of the biblical Job. Why is she such a tragic figure?
SA:
Kanesha is not meant to be seen as a tragic figure. Her character was
created to set an example of what might happen when making wrong
choices. I would like my readers to understand the reality of life in
any given situation, and how the wrong decisions can affect other
people's lives as well.
AR: She also seems to be drawn to men who turn out to be crazy. Is this tendency subconscious on her part?
SA:
I would say yes, because Kanesha had her own agenda. Whatever she
wanted, she went for it. She never took the time to get to know the men
she dealt with or their backgrounds. Her sexual addiction blinded her
to understand the consequences that she would be facing if she made the
wrong decisions.
AR: Why doesn't Kanesha ask for help before things get completely out of hand for her?
SA:
Kanesha didn't realize things could get out of hand. To her, things
were in control. I won't go into details, because I would be giving
away information about the sequel.
AR: Do you think infidelity truly runs as rampant throughout relationships as depicted in the book?
SA:
Absolutely, you see it in your every day life. Infidelity is said to be
75% of divorce rates, according to some statistics. It's in the movies,
in the media, and in books. There are many people who I'm surrounded by
on daily basis who confess to it.
AR: Regretful Decisions is your first book (congratulations!). What have been some of the reactions that you've gotten?
SA:
Thank you! Many people wonder is this book based on events of my own
life. People say "Job well done." I also get a host of other
compliments and questions asked.
AR What are your future writing/publishing plans?
SA:
I plan on writing many more books in the nearby future. I'm currently
working on the sequel to "Regretful Decisions". I hope some day to
branch out into writing plays and making my books into movies. I have
big dreams for my future. Hopefully, my books will land with a big
publishing company one day.
AR: Any final thoughts you'd like to share with our readers?
SA: Yes, if you haven't picked up a copy you should. I would love to here their feed back on what they think of my book.
AR: Thanks again, Sebrina, and best of continued success to you in all your endeavors!
SA: Once again thanks for taking the time out to interview me.
